Choose challenge, not chaos
If a word list is too easy, you get bored. If it is too difficult, you stop reviewing. The right list lives between those extremes and gives you enough friction to learn without feeling lost.
Signs you found the right level
- You already know some of the words.
- The new words feel useful, not random.
- You can finish a review session with focus still intact.
Start narrower than you think
Instead of trying to master every topic at once, pick one level and one theme. Work through that set until the words feel natural in sentences and recall tasks.
You can always expand later. A narrow list with regular review beats a huge collection that never becomes active vocabulary.
